In the fight against food waste and loss, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) has taken a significant step forward by launching a call aimed at providing financial support for multi-stakeholder collaborations or partnerships across the food supply chain to prevent food waste and loss at the consumers’ level. This initiative brings together key stakeholders to collectively address one of the most pressing challenges of our time. The call invites diverse actors, from farmers and manufacturers to researchers and NGOs, to join forces and develop innovative solutions that can make a real difference in reducing food waste.
Stakeholders interested in participating in this initiative should mark their calendars for the 21st of September—the deadline for presenting a proposal. To be eligible for funding, proposals need to meet certain criteria outlined by DG SANTE here.
