CCW General Assembly Re-elects Prof. Petar Stefanov as President

Consumer Co-operatives Worldwide (CCW) held its General Assembly on 19 May 2026 in a hybrid format, bringing together representatives of consumer co-operatives from across the globe to discuss the organisation’s priorities and elect its leadership for the coming mandate.

During the Assembly, delegates re-elected Prof. Petar Stefanov, President of the Central Cooperative Union (CCU) Bulgaria, as President of CCW. The General Assembly also elected the members of the CCW Executive Committee, including Euro Coop Vice Presidents Albino Russo and Illia Gorokhovskyi and  Euro Coop Board member Lukáš Němčík.

As the global sectoral organisation of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) for consumer co-operatives, CCW plays an important role in promoting cooperation, knowledge exchange, and advocacy for consumer co-operatives worldwide. The renewed leadership team is expected to continue advancing collaboration among co-operative organisations and highlighting the contribution of consumer co-operatives to sustainable and inclusive development.

Euro Coop congratulates Prof. Petar Stefanov on his re-election and wishes the newly elected Executive Committee a successful mandate.
