Coop Netherlands launched a new television advertisement as part of their latest campaign to reach the wider public and promote the consumer co-operative model. The promotional video is not only an useful instrument to better explain how a co-op works, but it is literally a Co-operative Manifesto.

Together you do more, you dare more, and you have more. We’re a Co-op, we don’t work for our benefit but for yours! We keep our principles high and our prices low.

In the past few years, Coop Netherlands is experiencing an increase in consumers and community appeal and the reason for this is their ethical business model which is a tool for creating more social benefit. Coop’s way of doing business means that retail success is transformed to more advantages for consumers and local communities. Their business philosophy is based on three basic principles: tasty food, at affordable prices, and nearby, all of which are shaped to serve the customer. Moreover, their smart use of customized promotions, pricing, and care for each individual customer in the stores has led to an increase in their sales and turnover. Keeping their principles high has meant an increase in their giving back to the local communities in the form of charities and social programmes for the disadvantages, like the Coop – Johan Cruyff Foundation.
