High Level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain for the next four years, Euro Coop has joined representatives of the European food chain, Trade Unions and NGOs in a letter to remind EU policy makers about the importance of food sustainability. Together with the same partners, Euro Coop had called in 2014 for a more coherent policy approach to safeguarding the sustainability of food systems and presented 32 concrete policy recommendations. These recommendations were positively received by EU policy makers, however, this topic has since faded from the European political agenda. This letter is then to remind them about those recommendations, which are now all the more relevant in the context of the upcoming adoption of the UN post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals and a new global climate framework.
